Criteria for Gifting
Criteria for S.A.N. Charitable Gifting
All will gifts will be considered under the following Basic Policy Statements:
- All requests will be considered and will be evaluated by the applicable criteria listed below.
- S.A.N. looks favorably upon requests which support the organization's mission of supporting senior’s health, security and independence.
- Decision for approval of gift requests will be made with consideration to available discretionary funds.
- Any and all gifts made by S.A.N. shall be made in the sole and absolute discretion of the gifting committee and Board.
- It is the intention of S.A.N. for gifts to be available during a time of demonstrated need and shall not be relied upon as regular funding. Approval of gifts will be made by the gifting committee and Board and will be based upon the strength of a demonstrated need and proposed action plan to prevent reoccurrence.
Specific Gifting Criteria:
Individual Awards:
The age requirement for potential recipients is 60 years of age or older. Requests must be submitted in writing and include the following information.
- Specific need prompting request
- contact information for gift recipient
- List of other funding sources pursued
- List of other means considered and approached for funding
- Means attempted to reduce request
- Plans to handle concerns for the future
The Gifting committee may make awards up to and including $500.00. Amounts in excess of $500.00 require Board approval.
Awards will be honored depending on demonstrated need, concurrence with S.A.N. mission, and availability of discretionary resources.
A person requesting an award may receive assistance only one time.
Institution/Agency/ Community Group Awards:
All gift awards to institutions, agencies or groups require S.A.N Board Approval.
There is no limit to the number of requests per year.
Requests must be submitted in writing and include the following information:
- Specific need prompting request
- Contact information for gift recipient
Awards will be honored depending on demonstrated need, concurrence with S.A.N. mission, and availability of discretionary resources. Organization must serve, but is not limited to serving, individuals 60 or older. Any Institution/Agency/Community Group request requires Board approval.
